Leica DMC III
For MM disks used in DMC III it is NOT recommended to simply delete existing data using Windows explorer tools, as remainders of the data will continue to exist which eventually could cause trouble when re-using the MM for new projects.
The clean-up of the MM and the preparation of a RAID 0 is highly advisable for the use together with DMC III.
This functionality is not yet available in the HxMap Data Copy Tool. Please use alternative tools (Z/I Copy) to format the MM, setup the RAID and prepare the individual partitions, but also to safely eject the disk without a potential loss of data.
Other Leica airborne systems
MM disks accessed via the MM data ports or the MM PC adapter can be managed like other storage media with standard operating system utilities. Use file browser tools to delete data and system tools to format the MMs while they are connected to the computer. After preparation disconnect the MMs as described in Accessing the raw data .
