Creating a Metadata Template

HxMap has the option to generate standard conforming metadata xml-files for final products generated if desired. A valid xml-template file is required as input. Product-specific metadata is then generated dynamically and combined with the template to create a metadata file for each individual output produced. It is good practice to make sure you have a customized metadata template for the project that can be used whenever operators reach the product generation step of the workflow.

To create a valid input template:

• copy the file “metadataTemplate.xml”from “Workflow Manager/etc/” to a directory of your choice

• modify the values inside this skeleton with information from your organization and/or project

• save your metadata template file and use it during product generation as described in the following section

The default “metadataTemplate.xml” file is given as an example only and would not be valid for delivery to a customer. It requires you to input relevant information about your organization and project setup before running product generation for a specific project where metadata should be delivered.
