System Requirements

HxMap software runs under the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems. Basic requirements for an optimal processing workstation are the following:

  • IBM PC-compatible computer,

  • Supported Windows versions:

    • Windows 10

    • Windows 11

    • Windows Server 2016

    • Windows Server 2019

  • Minimum 16 GB RAM for Standalone Leica RCD30 systems, for any other supported sensor 64 GB RAM is required

  • 3 TB or more free disk space for data processing. Disk space for data processing depends largely on the characteristics of production work and back up cycles used. It is recommended to have 20 TB or more available. One full day flight data with products may require about 3 TB.

  • Minimum 3 GHz processor speed with 8 physical cores or more:

    • the processor needs to support Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE) and Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX). Most modern processor families (e.g. Intel Core and Xeon series, AMD Ryzen and Threadripper series) support these, but it is worth to confirm your specific model

    • interactive tasks in HxMap Workflow Manager will benefit from higher core counts.

  • Graphics card

    • HxMap Workflow Manager: Mid-Range Consumer level Graphics cards with fast RAM speed, OpenGL version 2.0 or greater is required to support Remote Desktop (such as NVIDIA RTX A2000). More VRAM can help to improve performance of loading and displaying thousands of images in large projects.

    • HxMap 3D Advanced: NVIDIA graphics card is required with minimum CUDA compute capability level 6.0 or higher. Gaming type graphics cards are suitable choice, like GeForce RTX 30 series and 40 series cards. Increased CUDA core count will help to speed up processing tasks.
